Interview for “Writers for Readers” to publishing on Wattpad

Gary E. Johnson interviewed me for Writers for Readers, a radio program hosted by 102.7 CHOP FM.

During our conversation, Gary asked me why I didn’t write more romance novels, given the fantastic romantic storyline in The Taking.

The Writers for Readers program airs every 2nd Wednesday @6:00PM EDT and Saturday @7:00AM EDT.

I can’t remember my answer.

The question got me thinking.

I need more reader feedback on this novel!

As a result, I’ve temporarily published The Taking for free on Wattpad.

Only one chapter will be released every two days starting December 4th and running through February 2024. The entire novel is available on Amazon in both paperback and Kindle formats.

I’ll update this article with my findings as my experiment unfolds.

Wattpad is a free online platform that allows users to read and publish original stories. Wattpad claims to have a community of over 90 million people spending over 23 billion minutes/month engaged in original stories. After posting their works on Wattpad, many new authors have succeeded in seeing their work hit mainstream publishing, television, and movies.

Update in 2025 - the experiment failed, I took down The Taking from both Royal Roads and Wattpad. Lesson learned: I need to refine my craft. I've since discontinued The Taking on Amazon.
